Thank you for your correspondence  of  20 August 2023  to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and 
Employment (MBIE) requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following: 
 
1.  Any discussion documents between 1995 - 2002 that speak about the access to services and rights 
given to refugee claimants whilst they are in the process of claiming refugee status. 
 
I am writing to advise you that MBIE has decided to extend the period of time available to notify you of a 
decision on your request under section 15A(1)(a) of the Act as the request will necessitate a search 
through a large quantity of information and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere 
with the operations. 
 
MBIE will notify you of a decision on your request no later than 13 October 2023.
