CHRISTCHURCH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT LIMITED (CIAL) 
1.  We write further to our email of 02 August 2023, acknowledging receipt of your OIA 
request of 01 August 2023 seeking information (if held by CIAL) in relation to CIAL 
correspondence with National Party members or MPs.  
We have answered your request in this letter and for completeness, we set out your 
request below.  
Request: Received 01 August 2023 - Correspondence with national MPs or 
party members: 
 
“I’d like to request copies of all correspondence or meeting documentation (minutes, 
agendas, presentations and notes) with National MPs or national party members, 
since July 2020.” 
 
2.  From the outset, we consider your request too broad in scope and therefore, we will 
be unable to provide you with this level of information. As a large-scale organisation, 
CIAL meets with numerous members of parliament from various political parties (as 
it is entitled and would be expected to do as a significant and strategic business at 
both a local and national level). To provide you with every single interaction CIAL 
has had (including less formal engagements) would be near impossible. As you may 
know, CIAL is involved in select committee meetings, consultation processes, public 
events, and many other engagements where it meets or interacts with members of 
parliament. 
3.  In addition, we would never be able to outline all interactions with ‘National Party 
members’ or members of other political parties. This is personal information we do 
not collect or retain.
