Thank you for your email of 6 July 2023 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) 
requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following information: 
 
Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment, 
 
I am interested in learning how motel owners who changed the use of their buildings from 'accommodation' 
to 'residential' were able to delay Determination 2023/017 so long. 
 
I am requesting a list of emails held by MBIE in regards the request for determination, inclusive of:

I have no objections to the redaction of the names of persons involved where this is necessary to protect the 
privacy of living persons, as long as a substitution is made that preserves the relevant information involved 
(i.e. substituting 'MSD staff for a Ministry of Social Development employee, or 'MED ministerial staff' for a 
staff member of the Minister for Economic Development's ministerial staff).
