Thank you for your email on 10 July 2023, asking for the following relating to the appointment
of the Group Manager, Acute Demand and System Pressures for Hospital & Specialist
Services, which has been considered under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act). You
have specifically requested:
1. Copy of the job/position description
2. Salary (if unwil ing to provide a specific salary, please provide salary band/range or to
nearest $5,000)
3. Please advise if the role was advertised. If so, where was the role advertised? For how
long (dates the advert live by advertising channel)?
4. If the role was not advertised, please provide how applicants were sought
5. How many applicants were there?
6. How many people were interviewed (if there was an interview)?
7. Who was on the interview panel (if there was an interview)?
8. Al emails, text/WhatsApp/etc messages, papers, decision documents, etc. relating to
the creating of the role and/or appointment of a permanent post-holder
9. Please provide copies of any advice received regarding appointing to the role during a

Firstly, I apologise for the delay in providing our response. For the sake of clarity, I wil address
each part of your request in turn.

The salary band for this role is Strategic Pay Band 29 ($213,553 - $320,329, with a midpoint of
$266,941).
3. Please advise if the role was advertised. If so, where was the role advertised? For how long
(dates the advert live by advertising channel)?
The role was advertised for 10 days (17 May 2023 to 27 May 2023) on the Health New Zealand
and then Māori Health Authority Careers website, the Kiwi Health Jobs Career website, and the
jobs.govt.nz website.
4. If the role was not advertised, please provide how applicants were sought
Not applicable.
5. How many applicants were there?
There were 12 applicants.
6. How many people were interviewed (if there was an interview)?
Three candidates were interviewed.
7. Who was on the interview panel (if there was an interview)?
