Information Request – Station/Appliance Sellcall IDs 
 
I am writing in relation to your information request dated 21 June 2023 for: 
 
an updated list of station and appliance ANI sequences for Sellcalling. I am requesting the 
updated list for all of New Zealand, including all trucks and station UHF radios 
 
I require this information to update my database, as my current records are outdated. 
Attached below is an example of the ANI sequence used by communications to identify the 
appliance sending K-Codes. Station/Appliance Sellcall IDs. 
 
On 22 June we emailed asking you to provide sufficient evidence so we can be satisfied that you 
are entitled to make an Official Information Act (OIA) request. You responded with an internet link 
to a photo of a passport. You also provided a photo of a map of New Zealand with a pin in it. As 
explained, this is not sufficient information to show you meet the criteria in section 12 of the OIA. 
 
If you wish to make a further request with evidence that you are entitled to make a request under 
the OIA we will consider it. However, we can advise that because of the nature of the data you are 
requesting and the public nature of the forum you are requesting it through, it is likely that we 
would refuse your request under section 9(2)(c) of the OIA.
