INFORMATION REQUEST – ECC/EOC Seismic Resilience
We write in response to your request which was a partial transfer from Bay of Plenty Regional
Council dated 13 June 2023 in which you requested the following information:
 Please identify for your CDEM Group and it’s members each building that is
currently identified as the building intended/likely to be used as -the ECC -an
EOC after a seismic event.

 Please provide the buildings current %nbs at IL4, the date of the last
assessment, and the type of seismic assessment completed.
 Alternately if you do not hold/cannot provide the above please provide the last
seismic assessment for the buildings identified above
We have considered your request in accordance with the Local Government Official
Information and Meetings Act 1987 (“LGOIMA”) and respond as follows:
The Emergency Operations Centre for Tauranga City Council is located at 46 Spring Street,
Tauranga. The building was strengthened in 2015 by way of building consent (BC50488).
The strengthening work was designed by Arnold & Johnstone Engineers and peer-reviewed
by MCH Limited. The final NBS was calculated to be 71%.
The technical reports from the building consent are attached for your information. It is in two
parts.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
