I refer to your official information request dated 19 May 2023 asking for the following information. 
Can I please request the full SMS incident report for #F3740972, including any information 
added after this date, up to the date of the response? Can I also please request ful  transcripts 
of any internal emails, heads-up messages, or other communications from FENZ to other 
agencies (Parliament, NZ Police, Wel ington Free, etc). 
Your request for a copy of the SMS Incident Report has been assessed in accordance with the 
provisions of the Official Information Act 1982 (“OIA”), and a decision has been made to refuse 
your request under section 6(c) of the OIA, as the making available of the information would be 
likely to prejudice the maintenance of the law, including the prevention, investigation, and 
detection of offences, and the right to a fair trial.
We are advising of an extension to the time limit to make a decision on the outstanding aspects of 
your request, until 4 August 2023. The reason for the extension is that your request necessitates a 
search through a large quantity of information and meeting the original time limit would 
unreasonably interfere with our operations. Furthermore, consultations necessary to make a 
decision on your request are such that a proper response to your request cannot reasonably be 
made within the original time limit. 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
