I’m delighted to welcome you to Hamilton City Council, congratulations on your new role 
and we are excited to have you as part of our team. 
We have around 1300 staff here at Council, working across numerous services and 
facilities from roading and water, parks and playgrounds to event centres and a museum, 
planning and policies – the range of work we do is huge.  
But while our work is extremely varied, our purpose is united, and that is to improve the 
wellbeing of Hamiltonians, something you will learn more about becoming part of our 
organisation’s culture. 
Hamilton is home to more than 160 ethnicities, and here at Council you will be part of a 
diverse workforce – we are proud to be an employer that welcomes people from all sides 
of the globe.
