I refer to your information request dated 13 July 2023 made under the Official Information Act 1982
(the Act). You have requested:
“the minimum admission scores for entry to the MBChB and BDS programmes via the HSFY
for 2018-2023. (international category) Please exclude those who had a preconditional offer
to enter into MbCHb and BDS.”
Subject to the following comments, please see attached the information you have requested:

The data provided excludes those who received a preconditional offer to enter the MB ChB or
BDS programmes via the HSFY International category.

It is important to note that an applicant’s average academic score is not the only factor in
determining whether an applicant is successful in receiving an offer to enter the MB ChB or
BDS programmes.

Data for 2018 is not held centrally in our Student Management System and therefore would require
staff to manually collate this information. This work would require substantial collation and staff
time. In light of this, could you please confirm whether you still require this information – in which
case we will need to consider either fixing a charge under section 15 of the Act or otherwise
declining this part of your request under section 18(f) of the Act.
Could you please confirm whether the data we have provided you with in this response is sufficient.
If you are not satisfied with our response to your information request, section 28(3) of the Act
provides you with the right to ask an Ombudsman to investigate and review this response. However,
we would welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns with you first.
