Information Request – Fleet fire appliance information 2023
I refer to your official information request dated 29 January 2023 asking for the following
information:
1. The updated fleet fire appliance cascade for 2023
2. A full list of all appliances/trucks disposed or going to be disposed of between January
2022 and February 2023.
3. A full list of trucks which are either reaching or have reached their end-of-life service
In this letter we will provide the information we can and extend one aspect to enable you to clarify
your request.
In accordance with the provisions of the Official Information Act, to follow are responses to
requests 1 and 2.
1. The updated fleet fire appliance cascade for 2023
The most recent cascade plan published in March 2022 is
enclosed in appendix one. However,
there have been changes to this cascade plan which have not yet been published and these are
enclosed in appendix two
.
2. A full list of all appliances/trucks disposed or going to be disposed of between January
2022 and February 2023.

3. A full list of trucks which are either reaching or have reached their end-of-life service
We need to extend this aspect of your request to 13 March 2023, to enable us to consult with you
to clarify your request.
On 7 February we sent a request asking the you to clarify what you mean by ‘end-of-service-life’
with a follow up email being sent on 16 February. We have not received a response from you.
The reason we need to clarify your request is because we do not use the term ‘end of life service’
for appliances. Instead, we have ‘target asset life dates’ for all appliances. We can provide this list
if it would fulfill your request. Please advise if that is the case.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
