Information Request
I refer to your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 27 December 2022 in which you
requested the fol owing information:
1. Al Vehicles used and the quantity in the Palmerston North police station
2. I would like it to be broken down by department, e.g Highway, PST, AOS etc. The Vehicle
used and the quantity of them.
3. I would like every single car and its brand and model and its police department.
The information contained in the attached table is for the whole of the Central District where the
Palmerston North station is located. Vehicles are often moved around within the district to meet
deployment demand. Due to this fluidity, it is not possible to provide a breakdown of vehicle
deployments to city level. That breakdown is therefore refused under section 18(g) of the OIA, as the
information is not held.
The information was sourced from the Master Fleet Summary, a document that changes daily. This
can be for several reasons, such as a vehicle reaching the end of its service and being
decommissioned, replaced by a new vehicle, or transferred to a different working group.
The data contained in the table is an excerpt from the Master Fleet Summary taken on 10 January
2023, therefore any changes made after that date wil not be reflected.
