Thank you for your email of 7 December 2022 requesting the information regarding the Ngā Ūranga to
Pito-One section of Te Ara Tupua, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).
Further to my letter of 25 January 2023, please find enclosed copies of the Health and Safety in
Design (HSID) Register and Road Safety Audit – Consenting Stage.
Names, images and contact details of external parties have been withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the
Act. This section allows for the withholding of information in order to protect the privacy of natural
persons. I do not consider there are any other factors which would render it desirable, in the public
interest, to make this information available.
In regard to the HSID Register, please note that the design maturity across the project ranges from 30-
90 percent complete. HSID workshops have identified risks that are shown on the HSID Register.
Through the ongoing design development mitigation measures are under development. The HSID
Register does not include mitigation treatments or residual risk levels at this stage as this work is not
yet complete.
With respect to the Road Safety Audit – Consenting Stage, the Te Ara Tupua Al iance is conducting
additional safety audits of the preliminary design, final design and upon completion the construction.
The preliminary design audit is partially complete and wil be released to the public at a later date.
The remaining documents falling within scope of your request are currently being prepared for public
release and wil be made available on the Te Ara Tupua project page at:

ara-tupua/. Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to
