I refer to your request for information dated 25 November 2022 made under the Official Information 
Act 1982 (the Act). You had requested information in relation to entry to the 2023 Bachelor of 
Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programmes at 
the University of Otago via the Health Sciences First Year (HSFY) category. 
 
We supplied responses in two parts on 22 December 2022 and 28 March 2023. We note that 
incorrect information regarding the 2023 MB ChB and BDS programmes were supplied in our 
response dated 28 March 2023.  The correct information is as follows: 
 
MB ChB: 
 
•  The average minimum academic score to receive an offer from the waitlist was 89.43, not 
88.86; and 
•  the average median academic score to receive an offer from the waitlist was 92, not 91.86. 
 
BDS: 
 
•  The average minimum academic score to receive an offer from the waitlist was 87.00, not 
80.14; and 
•  the average median academic score to receive an offer from the waitlist was 90.86, not 
89.86. 
 
 
All other information supplied was correct. Please accept our apology for this error.
