Just checking that I actually did send the below – in blue – as my Mail did something
funny recently.
Thought I would check, as I couldn’t find it in my sent box, and it was still in my DRAFTs.
I am not so good at the application to the board side of things, but the leg. shows anything
submitted to OFLC under s13 (as the 9(2)(a)
was) can be reviewed by the board
without leave being sought.
I don’t know how fees are applied by the Board; we don’t charge for publications
submitted to us by the Crown agencies (a Court, Police, Customs, or DIA).
You might want to check with the Secretary.
The 9(2)(a)
sent us the same enquiry, but knowing which publication might be of help to
you – they could be asking about a movie they saw on the weekend!
I can see why you would ask us under which section a publication was submitted to
OFLC.
Actually, the NZ Register of Classification Decisions shows the section which publications
were submitted.
So, if we search the site for something like Mexican Torture, the section is shown:

Thanks for that
Re updating the updating of decisions- I would advise maybe touching base with 9(2)(a)  in
two weeks or so as this Friday is my last day and I don’t think I will have a replacement for
a week or two but I imagine some assistance could be given when we have a full team!
Thanks

This Decision is now published here:

I note that you have added the new cover page warning. That’ll save us having to do it later
when we swap over to the new system.
On that subject: It would be great if the cover page could be added to each of the files in the
current archive. 9(2)(a)  has suggested that the new versions of the files can probably all be
uploaded together, but first we will need to download each file from the website and add the
cover page in Adobe Acrobat DC. Is that a task that you or your team could do in coming

weeks/months?
It’s just a pretty boring and time consuming task. Let me know.

I don’t believe that if you were to decide to come down for the review that
we would require any evidence of your vaccination status however, I will
confirm this with my manager on Monday and can update you then.

I believe the length of the meetings vary depending upon the
complexity of the review, I think they can vary between from
about half a day to two days in rarer cases.

Thank you for letting me know!
There is a review happening on the 2nd and it
looks like the second review will likely be taking
place on the 3rd. Just to confirm, you won’t be
attending the meeting on the second but you will
be attending the meeting on the 3rd via Zoom?
I believe the Board Chair wants the first meeting
to be in person and is happy for the second to go
ahead via Zoom, so that suits the Board (but
hopefully you’ll be able to travel again soon!).

Dear 9(2)(a)
I can do 3rd of December.
I can't do 2nd Dec (the previous date requested -
is that still on?) as I already have a full day clinic
booked that day.
I could attend in person if levels allow but I'm
not feeling optimistic at this stage - I'm based in
Auckland and I think we're living in a different
reality to those based in Pōneke...!

I reply to applicant myself from the Film and Literature inbox. We have set templates that we
under the Official Information Act 1982
decide to use based off of your decisions to grant or not their application.

Just wondering if I could get an ETA on when we can expect a decision? I’ve been holding off but
am expecting the applicants to start checking in their apps.

Thanks,

I would like to introduce myself.
MaSS [my team – me actually] - is providing secretariat support to the Film and Literature Board
of Review(FBLOR) until the function is transferred to the Office of DCE Te Haumi – Enterprise
Partnerships. The decision to transfer FLBOR to the DEC’s office was made recently following a
review of Te Haumi.
Reading 9(2)(a)  email, I can see that the desk files we are using needs updating arising from
successive staff turnover at our end. It still shows 9(2)(a)
 as the person processing
applications for leave to the Secretary.
Could you let me know who, if it is not yourself, we should send applications for leave to? I will
update our desk files where I can as part of the transition to the DCE’s Office.
Thanks.

A bit of a mix-up between me and the secretariat for the Film and Literature Board of Review.
We didn’t appreciate that the delegations for the exercise of the Secretary’s leave had been
transferred from 9(2)(a)
 to you.
Attached for you attention is an application for leave from 9(2)(a)

recommending that you grant leave and a reduced fee.
I presume, in future, someone in your team will take over the responsibility for processing these
