Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request dated 13 September 2022.
You asked:
I am writing to request an Excel file relating to all firearms related jobs (Where
firearms have been presented or discharged by police) from the period of
13/9/2021 – 13/9/2022. Specifically, I request all Rotorua city jobs.
I would like the file to contain the following columns:
Date, Time, CARD/Event number, Location e.g., Street, residence, commercial
(Not asking for physical address just area of incident), Weapon Discharged
(Yes/No and by who) and Result Code.
The information you requested is shown in
Table 1. Your request was for events in
Rotorua city.
Table 1 contains events where the incident Station recorded on the Tactical
Options Report was Rotorua.
This data has been drawn from Tactical Options Reports (TORs) which had completed
the review process as of 15 September 2022. This is a dynamic operational database
and is subject to change as new information is recorded or updated.
The Armed Offenders Squads (AOS) and Special Tactics Group (STG) are exempted
from firearm presentations, and therefore any events involving firearm presentations by
these staff will not be included in
Table 1.
