Re: Datasets Used for Housing Assessment for the Auckland Region
Thank you for your email of 30 June 2022. Your specific request and our response are set
out below.
During the planning committee meeting on 30th June 2022 there was a presentation that
discussed the building height controls for the city centre. The presentation included some
excellent renderings that really helped il ustrate the impact of the different options. I'd like to
do the same thing, but extended across the whole of Auckland. Perhaps the team that
prepared the presentation has the appropriate datasets that they could share with me.
I have been advised that you have spoken with Dean Thompson - Lead Geospatial Analyst
in the Plans and Places department, and that during the conversation, it became clear you
were interested in the council’s ‘Capacity for Growth Model’. If you remain interested in
obtaining information relating to the ‘Capacity for Growth Model’, please email the council’s

Should you believe Auckland Council has not responded appropriately to your request, you
have the right by way of complaint, under section 27(3) of the LGOIMA, to apply to the
Ombudsman to seek an investigation and review of the decision.
