Rebranding of Public Agencies

Luke made this Official Information request to Public Service Commission

The request was partially successful.

From: Luke

Dear Public Service Commission,

Throughout mid-2021, a large number of public agencies rebranded by changing their name and/or adopting a new logo. I note Waka Kotahi, Reserve Bank and Crown Law as examples.

1. Was the decision to rebrand all public agencies part of the Public Service Commission's "Public Service reform programme"?

2. Please detail the Public Service reform programme.

3. Please list all the public agencies that have rebranded since 1 January 2021.

4. Please list the cost of rebranding for each public agency.

5. Please list the public agencies that have also undergone public consultations prior to rebranding.

6. Please release any advice given by the Public Service Commission regarding the decision to rebrand public agencies.

Yours faithfully,

Luke

Dear Luke

Thank you for your OIA request.

In question number 3, 4 and 5 you have requested information for all the
Public Service agencies. The Commission does not hold the information that
you have requested for Public Service agencies.

You will need to contact the agencies you are wanting this information
from directly.

In June 2021 Minister’s were asked a number of written parliamentary
questions that related to costs of rebranding for their agencies.  The
answers are publicly available on the Parliament website - [1]Written
questions - New Zealand Parliament (www.parliament.nz)

It may be helpful to review these responses ahead of lodging your
requests, in case the information you are seeking is held in the responses
given.

Kind regards

6. All advice produced by the Commission that relates to the decision to rebrand public agencies.

Should any of these questions be refused, please state the reasons why as required under ss 19(a)(i) and (ii) of the Official Information Act 1982.

Yours sincerely,

Luke
