Our response to your request is outlined below.

Response

  the  length  of  time  the  acting  Chief  Financial  Officer  has  been  engaged  in  that  position  as  a
contractor,

The acting Chief Financial Officer (CFO) has been engaged since 21st July 2021 on a part-time basis as
a contractor and remains currently in that position. The purpose of their engagement is to provide
backfill to the substantive Chief Financial whom is engaged in preparation for Health New Zealand.

In order to provide you with further context, please note that our substantive CFO across the 2DHBs
(CCDHB/HVDHB) has been seconded to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC)
on a part time basis.

This role is a 2DHB role and therefore the person in the role of CFO of both CCDHB and HVDHB with
costs apportioned across both. The total costs have been included.

  their hourly rate,

The fees  paid to date equates to $1204.95 +  GST per  day, therefore assuming an 8 hour day this
would be $150.62 + GST per hour.

  how much in fees has been paid for their services to date,

To date we have paid fees for the period up to November 2021, this equates to $63,862.35 plus GST.

  how much has been paid in total by Capital and Coast District Health Board to PwC for services in
the last two years,

In the period April 2020 – March 2022 we have recorded expenditure of $101,469.16 plus GST against
supplier PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

  whether any other Tier 2 and 3 positions are currently occupied by contractors, their names, the
names of the companies from which their services are engaged and the total paid for each position
to date

Apart from our response above, no Tier 2 or Tier 3 positions are currently occupied by contractors.

In order to provide you with further context, please note that a substantial amount of leadership at
CCDHB operates in a 2DHB manner across both CCDHB and HVDHB but may reside on either DHBs
accounts, therefore we have excluded these staff as being ‘contractors’ of CCDHB.

I trust this information fulfils your request. You have the right, under Section 28 of the OIA, to seek an
