I refer to your Official Information Act request received on 28th February 2022 in which you 
specifically requested the following:   
I am interested to know how much money the South Canterbury District Health Board paid to the 
South African Orthopaedics hire who was here for 1 week before his children were kil ed and his 
wife was taken into involuntary confinement by the Canterbury District Health Board in 
Hil morton.  
 
1.  Was he paid for 1 week’s work at a 1 FTE Orthopaedics consultant or 
something else?  
SCDHB’s response: South Canterbury District Health Board cannot provide a 
response to your request due to breaching privacy. Therefore, we refuse your 
request under section 9 (a) of the Official Information Act to protect the privacy 
of natural persons. 
 
2.  What was the duration of his employment?

3.  Is he stil  on payrol ?
