Information Request – Salary Bands 
 
I refer to your official information request dated 19 December 2021 asking for the following 
information. 
 
“Could you please provide in writing the salary band IE 17.5, and the associated 
remuneration band (low, median, high) for each of the following roles for Auckland, and 
Bay of Plenty 
 
District Manager 
Group Manager 
Community Risk Reduction Manager  
Senior Advisor Risk Reduction” 
 
Your request has been assessed in accordance with the provisions of the Official Information Act 
1982 (OIA). 
 
You asked for Fire and Emergency to provide the low, median and high points on its band. Fire and 
Emergency uses step progressions in its bands ranging from 90 percent to 100 percent (rather 
than using ‘low, median, high’ categories). Appointment in the band is subject to the provisions of 
the relevant employment agreement. This range is provided under the OIA at Appendix 1 (and is 
the same for both Auckland and Bay of Plenty).   
 
Fire and Emergency has three districts that encompass Auckland – Auckland city, Waitemata and 
Counties-Manakau. For completeness our response includes those three districts. 
 
Please note the PSA Senior Advisor rate is effective July 2021. The PFU rate is a 2020 rate, which is 
still current as the parties are in bargaining
