Dear Hemant

Thank you for your email of 30 October 2021 requesting under the Official Information
Act 1982 (the Act):

Based on information provided on an OIA https://fyi.org.nz/request/16720 there
are currently no targets for processing times for visa applications.

I would like to request:

Al  information held with regards to introducing/setting up targets for the
processing times for visa application, reasons for and against, options on how
targets would work / be measured etc.
I would also like to know how often setting up targets is considered.

I can confirm that no advice has been received with regard to the establishment or introduction
of targets for processing times of visa applications. I am therefore refusing your request under
section 18(e) of the Act, as the information requested does not exist.

You have the right, under section 28(3) of the Act, to ask the Ombudsman to review any
decisions made under this request.

Yours sincerely

Hon Kris Faafoi
Minister of Immigration
