Hi Kathleen
Good to talk with you this afternoon. We are very anxious to reassure the Commissioner that the
efficacy and safety of the Pfizer vaccines in adults and children has been careful y considered and has
a robust scientific underpinning. Note that the Cabinet has yet to consider any decision to use the
Pfizer vaccine in 12-15 yo people. That wil likely occur in early August.
We have received quite a lot of material /correspondence from concerned medical practitioners and
this commentary may assist in seeing where the science sits at present.
Please do offer a briefing for Judge Beecroft if that would assist

The Children’s Commissioner is receiving correspondence relating to unwarranted, potential harmful
effects of Covid19 vaccination of children. Given the low prevalence of il ness in children (and what
il ness there is can be treated with existing medicines), they are concerned about adverse effects of
the Covid spike protein expression on cardiovascular systems, mainly, with risk of death being
unwarranted risk to children, not to mention the unknown risks due to short time of trials.
It is our job to advocate for children’s health. We depend on experts to assist us and advise us.
I understand you convene the COVID-19 Vaccine Technical Advisory Group (CVTAG)
We would be grateful if you could please include the Children’s Commissioner in communications
from that group on issues pertaining to vaccination of children.

We would like to ensure we support the Health Ministry’s official messaging, while we advocate for
the best interests of children.
