We write further to our letter of 22 October 2021, in which we responded to your request
for official information in the form of remuneration data of Board members and notified
you of a time extension to make our decision and release the requested Board minutes.
We are pleased to advise we have granted your request in relation to the Board minutes
and
enclose the approved meeting minutes of the Board of Trustees of the National
Provident Fund (
NPF) from 1 January 2020 to 9 November 2021 (inclusive).
Certain information is withheld under the fol owing grounds of the Official Information Act
1982:
• Section 9(2)(a): 'to protect the privacy of natural persons, including that of deceased natural
persons'.
• Section 9(2)(b)(ii): 'to protect information where the making available of the information …
would be likely unreasonably to prejudice the commercial position of the person who
supplied or who is the subject of the information'.
• Section 9(2)(ba)(i): 'to protect information which is subject to an obligation of confidence …
where the making available of the information would be likely to prejudice the supply of
similar information or information from the same source and it is in the public interest that
such information should continue to be supplied'.
• Section 9(2)(g)(i): 'to maintain the effective conduct of public affairs through the free and
frank expression of opinions by or between…members of an organisation and employees or
any…organisation in the course of their duty'.
• Section 9(2)(h): 'to maintain legal professional privilege'.
• Section 9(2)(i): 'to enable…any public service agency or organisation holding the information
to carry out, without prejudice or disadvantage, commercial activities'.
• Section 9(2)(j): 'to enable a Minister of the Crown or any public service agency or
organisation holding the information to carry on, without prejudice or disadvantage,
negotiations (including commercial and industrial negotiations)'.
