Thank you for your email dated 1 December 2020 requesting information relating to livestock grazing 
on Watercare land. 
 
Our response 
 
The locations where Watercare has grazing animals (sheep or cattle) are: 
 
Mangere Wastewater Treatment Plant – cattle 
Rosedale Wastewater Treatment Plant – sheep & cattle 
Beachlands Wastewater Treatment Plant – cattle 
Waiuku Wastewater Treatment – sheep. 
 
Watercare does not own the land in the Waitakere or Hunua catchments.   
 
In terms of the numbers of animals, this depends on the time of year (winter destocking), spring and 
summer greater stock numbers, so there is no consistent number of stock.
