Re: City Parks Relationship to council 
I refer to your email dated 30 January 2014, which we received on 30 January 2014, 
requesting information about City Parks Services relationship to council. 
City Parks Services is a department of Auckland Council. Its annual reporting is contained in 
the Annual Report which is available on the council website here:

The City Parks Services website is registered to "Enterprise Services", which was the 
Division of the former Auckland City Council responsible for City Parks Services at the time 
that the website was registered. 
Auckland Council does not have a written policy regarding the provision of references, 
personal or work-related. Our expectation is that any reference provided on Auckland 
Council letterhead will conform with our Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies. 
There are no formal contracts in place between Mr Hayes’ company Colonial Carpentry Ltd 
and Auckland Council (including City Parks Services). 
Should you believe Auckland Council has not responded appropriately to your request, you 
have the right by way of complaint, under section 27(3) of the LGOIMA, to apply to the 
Ombudsmen to seek an investigation and review of the decision.
