Re: Fundraising using the council logo 
 
I refer to your email, which we received on 17 February 2014, requesting policies related to 
fundraising using the council logo. 
 
The applicable information is contained in the Auckland Council Identity Guidelines. The 
relevant pages are provided as an attachment to this letter. Consent to use of the logo is 
permitted when third parties undertaking activities that are supported by Council approach 
us for the logo. In the event that the logo is misused and the council is made aware of it 
appropriate action is taken. 
 
Should you believe Auckland Council has not responded appropriately to your request, you 
have the right by way of complaint, under section 27(3) of the LGOIMA, to apply to the 
Ombudsmen to seek an investigation and review of the decision. 
 
I also wish to apologise for the delay in getting this response to you and draw your attention 
to your right of complaint to the Office of the Ombudsmen regarding this delay.
