Dear Wayne
REQUEST FOR OFFICIAL INFORMATION - EXTENSION OF TIME REQUIRED TO REACH A DECISION
We refer to your official information request dated 26 August 2019 . You have requested the following
from Queenstown Lakes district Council (QLDC).
Please provide a copy of the agreement if there is an agreement between QLDC and Auckland
International Airport Limited or its subsidiary (AIAL), which governs the management and
operation of Queenstown Airport Corporation Limited (QAC) and the relationship between
QLDC and AIAL?
If yes, does that agreement contain a list of matters that require the consent of (1) both QLDC
and AIAL as shareholders or (2) the affirmative vote of the AIAL appointed director?
If you decline to provide a copy of the agreement, please provide a redacted copy of the
agreement, removing any supposedly commercially sensitive information.
If you decline to provide a redacted of the agreement, please provide a copy of all of the
provisions of the agreement that require the consent of (1) both QLDC and AIAL as
shareholders or (2) the affirmative vote of the AIAL appointed director.
The Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act requires that we advise you of our
decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, we are unable to meet that time limit and we are therefore writing to notify you of an
extension of the time to make our decision to 21 October 2019.
This extension is necessary because consultations necessary to make a decision on your request are
such that a proper response cannot be reasonably made within the original time limit.
Right to review the above decision
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
Information about how to make a complaint is available at

should you be willing to change or refine your request.
