If this information is not held on a suburb by suburb level, please
provide the lowest level of reporting covering those suburbs.
If this request is declined on the basis that the information

The lowest level of reporting on this website is at Police Area level. The
area related to your request is Waitakere. Your request for this
information is therefore refused pursuant to section 18(d) as the
information is publicly available.
Crime statistics are not recorded at suburb level. The lowest level of
aggregation at which Police could provide data is by scene station. Scene
station data are not publicly availabl. If you do require statistics by
station level please advise.
Please note also that section 12(1) of the Official Information Act 1982
states that:
"Any person, being—
(a)A New Zealand citizen; or
(b)A permanent resident of New Zealand; or
(c)A person who is in New Zealand; or
(d)A body corporate which is incorporated in New Zealand; or
(e)A body corporate which is incorporated outside New Zealand but which
has a place of business in New Zealand,—
may request a Department or Minister of the Crown or organisation to make
available to him or it any specified official information".
Police therefore asks, if you do require further official information,
that you provide an address or other advice to show you satisfy section 12
of the Official Information Act. Thank you.
You have the right, under section 28(3) of the Official Information Act
1982, to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision if you are not satisfied
with the way I have responded to your request.
