Dear Christchurch City Council,

I understand that the Christchurch City Council has a register of
councillor's financial interests, which is "public, but not online"
("Call for end to council secrecy", Sunday Star-Times, 8/4/12). I
would like to request the following information under the Local
Government Official Informationand Meetings Act 1987:

* a copy of the council's register of financial itnerests.

I would prefer to receive an electronic response. Queries about
this request will be automatically forwarded to me by the
fyi.org.nz website.

Completing the register is voluntary, not compulsory. At the
Christchurch City Council it has recently been agreed that all
Councillors should declare their interests, and a new register will be
prepared in the near future.
