and how much was spent on the police precence at the National Party
conference in Auckland on 21/22 July.

Another fine example of police being clueless about the OIA. "Operational sensitivity" is not a reason to withhold information (however, "maintenance of the law" is, and may apply here. OTOH, would releasing ordinary police numbers really compromise the prevention of future offences? I very much doubt it)
