Advice on whether or not to grant a visa to Boy George (George Alan O'Dowd)
Ben Moore made this Official Information request to Minister of Immigration
The request was refused by Minister of Immigration.
From: Ben Moore
Dear Minister of Immigration,
I would like to request the following information under the OIA:
"All advice, communications, documentation and other relevant information on the visa application (or a possible visa application) by Boy George (George Alan O'Dowd)"
Without limiting this request in any way, I understand it may be useful to provide some context for this request. Immigration New Zealand has previously made seemingly arbitrary decisions under Section 16 of the Immigration Act to disallow entry to New Zealand for recording artists, e.g. the case of Odd Future in 2014. I seek this information to better understand the way this power is applied.
Yours faithfully,
Ben Moore
