Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
Act) to the Ministry of Health – Manatû Hauora (the Ministry) on 2 May
2024 for information regarding clinical trials of the Moderna COVID-19
vaccine. You requested:  

 

“Please advise if New Zealand is the location for any clinical trials of
Moderna Covid-19. 

 If so please advise 

 (i) where the trial(s) is/are registered 

(ii) the trial identifier(s) or number(s) 

(iii) the number of participants in each and the respective range of their
ages 

 Please also supply any correspondence or materials that discuss study
recruitment for the above.” 
 

No clinical trials of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine have been conducted in
New Zealand. Therefore, your request is refused under section 18(g)(i) of
the Act, as the information requested is not held by the Ministry and
there are no grounds for believing it is held by another agency subject to
the Act.
