respond to this request.
In accordance with section 15(1) and 15A of the Official Information Act,

Dear Health New Zealand,
I am writing on behalf of Otago Daily to follow up on an Official Information Act request submitted to your office on 11th August 2023. As per the requirements of the Official Information Act 1982, the statutory timeframe for a response is 20 working days after receiving the request.
Considering the date of the original submission, the period for a lawful response has since passed, which is concerning both from a legal standpoint and the perspective of journalistic pursuit.
Understanding the potential for unusual circumstances, we initially allowed some leniency beyond the mandated period. However, it has now become imperative for us to insist on the prompt delivery of the requested information.
Therefore, we respectfully request an immediate update on the status of our OIA request.
Your timely cooperation is not only expected in compliance with the OIA but is also appreciated for maintaining public trust and transparency.
Yours sincerely,
Otago Daily
