Please note information about meetings related to the Ministers’
portfolios will be proactively released (this does not include personal or
constituency matters). For each meeting in scope, the summary would list:
date, time (start and finish), brief description, location, who the
meeting was with, and the portfolio. If you attend a meeting with the
Minister on behalf of an organisation, the name of the organisation will
be released. If you are a senior staff member at an organisation, or meet

From: OIA Requests
Kia ora Kirsty,
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
Act) transferred from Hon Andrew Little, Minister of Health and received
by the Ministry of Health on 21 January 2022. You specifically asked for:
"...the exact number of deaths in NZ from covid that did not have any
underlying health conditions & who did not die of an injury please.
Also, please provide the ages of all of these people, & their vaccination
status."
Information related to the Ministry’s reporting of COVID-19 deaths has
been outlined in a news article on the Ministry website
at: [1]www.health.govt.nz/news-media/news-items/further-information-deaths-associated-covid-19.
Please note that this data has not been updated recently due to privacy
considerations, however the Ministry does intend on updating this data in
the upcoming weeks. Further information related to these COVID-19 deaths
is withheld under section 9(2)(a) to protect the privacy of natural
persons, including deceased natural persons. I have considered the
countervailing public interest in release in making this decision and
consider that it does not outweigh the need to withhold at this time.
Under section 28(3) of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to
review any decisions made under this request. The Ombudsman may be
contacted by email at: [2][email address] or by phone on 0800
802 602.
