Alex Harris made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police

The request was successful.

From: Alex Harris

Dear New Zealand Police,

Today the New Zealand Herald reported that police were deploying XM1006 sponge rounds as a non-lethal option to the Armed Offenders Squad and Special tactics Group ("Sponge rounds newest tactical option for cops", NZ Herald, 29 Nov 2013). I would like to request the following information under the OIA:

* How many XM1006 rounds have the police ordered;
* what is the total cost of acquisition and deployment.

I would prefer to receive an electronic response. Queries about this request will be automatically forwarded to me by the fyi.org.nz website.

With regards to s12 of the OIA, I am an NZ citizen and in NZ.

Yours faithfully,

Alex Harris
