RE Official Information Act request CDHB 10047 and WCDHB 9289
I refer to your email dated 2 March 2019 and received in our office on the 4 March 2019 requesting the
following information under the Official Information Act from Canterbury DHB and West Coast DHB.
Specifically:
1.
For each of the past three years ending June 2016, June 2017 and June 2018 what was the
DHBs Rural Adjuster funding component of the PBFF funding pool?
2.
Does the DHB fund and provide rural hospital services?
If Yes, continue to answer questions 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3. If no, go to question 3
2.1 Provide the following information about the rural hospitals in your DHB.
If there are none, please report this.

For each of the past three years, under each of the components of the Rural Adjuster, quantify
the allocation of Rural Adjuster funding through the DHBs contracts with its contracted providers or
Service Level Alliance Teams.

5.
i. Does the DHB include reporting requirements specific to the use of rural adjuster funding in
its contracts with service providers whose contract includes rural adjuster funding.
ii. If yes, provide a list of the reporting requirements included in the DHB contracts with these
providers. Consultations which are necessary to make a decision on the request mean that a proper response to
the request cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.
The Canterbury DHB and the West Coast DHB therefore require further time prior to issuing our
responses. The period of the extension is until 15 April 2019.
We are permitted to make this extension under Section 15A of the Official Information Act 1982 and you
have the right to complain to the Ombudsman about our decision to extend the time for responding.
