RE: Withheld under section 7(2)(a) information request
Hi Paul,

I agree with you that he is not happy with our decision to keep the traffic signal timing as is (Victoria
Street and Karo Drive intersection).

He has previously met with Withheld under section   to discuss how they determ
7(2)(a)
ine the traffic signal times and Withheld under   section 7(2)(a)
left shortly after extremely upset. In 5 of the response letters I explained how and why Council
calculate the times. He is not happy with the 5.5 seconds to cross the intersection.

I would like to achieve resolution through understanding however from the correspondence from
Withheld under   it seems that he is fixat
section 7(2)(a)
ed on changing the light phases. All the other request (including most
recent) all lead back to his original request.

If you are happy to meet with Withheld under  , it would need to be made cl
section 7(2)(a)
ear what the intention of the meeting
is for and what will be discussed. I am keen to catch up to talk about the situation and give you the
picture I see?

Hi Ana

We do not have any measure of cycle speed that we are able to provide to Withheld under section 7(2)(a).

Clearly he has concerns with something that we have done, I am more than happy to meet with him
to better understand his concerns and perhaps step him through how we reached our conclusions
and if we have got something not quite right we may be able to make changes.

Subject: Withheld under section 7(2)(a)  information request

Morning Paul,

Another information request by Withheld under  :
section 7(2)(a)

In addition, I would like to make a follow-up request:
Can I please have any evidence the council of any cyclists travelling at a speed lower than 20km/h on any
intersection without the council's control. This could be any internal design (such as when the various bike
lanes (Victoria st, island bay, oriental bay, etc) was developed or monitored, any personal experience of any
cyclists employed by or contracted by the council (such as the Mayor I believe is a cyclist, as well as the ex-
Mayor), any submissions in from the public (such as my various comments when I'm travelling, for example
14.2 km/h.

In regards to cycleway projects, was there any types of measures that Council performed that related
to the design?

As for collating feedback from Council employers and Councillors, I am going to decline because of
the time it would take.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks
