Dear T. Benseman,
Thank you for your Official Information Act request to the Department of
Conservation, dated 16 February 2019. You requested the following:
(1) “Please provide all details of the 19,000-hectare beehive concession to Ngati
Porou interests.”
(2) “Please also provide a map/s showing the boundaries of all concessions in
Raukumara.”
Please see the following response to your questions:
(1) “Please provide all details of the 19,000-hectare beehive concession to Ngati
Porou interests.”
I have decided to release the Ngati Porou’s beehive concession (in part). Private
information has been redacted, as has commercially sensitive information (including
beehive co-ordinates and concession term dates).
(2) “Please also provide a map/s showing the boundaries of all concessions in
Raukumara.”
I have decided to release two maps showing boundaries of concessions within
Raukumara Conservation Park and Raukumara Conservation Area. However, the
maps do not highlight the location or boundaries beehive concessions, as this
information is considered commercially sensitive.
