Farm Records 
 
I refer to your request which we received on 13 February 2019, regarding the records for all 
cattle currently held at Ambury Farm. I also refer to my colleague Samantha Sinclair’s email to 
you on 21 February 2019, acknowledging and seeking clarification of your request. You replied 
as below on the next day. Our response to your questions is as follows: 
 
Could I please request the records for al  cattle currently held at Ambury Farm? Could I 
also be provided with information on the ownership of the livestock. 
By records could I please have the data stored on NAIT (The National Animal Identification 
and Tracing) of the cattle that are currently held at Ambury Farm. 
By information on the ownership of the livestock, I mean who owns the cattle that are 
currently held at Ambury Farm. 
Please refer to the attached NAIT data for cattle currently registered at Ambury Farm.  
 
It contains information including the number of cattle, the visual ID number (ear tag), Radio 
Frequency Identification Device number (RFID), date of birth, type, gender and production type 
(beef or dairy).   
 
Please note that al  the cat le listed on NAIT for Ambury farm are owned by Auckland Council. 
Please note that NAIT does not record ownership of cattle but possession. 
 
Should you believe Auckland Council has not responded appropriately to your request you have 
the right to seek a review of the decision from the Ombudsman.
