Thank you for your request made under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings 
Act 1987 (the Act), received on 13 December 2018. You requested the following information: 
 
•  Information regarding the traffic light timings at the intersection of Victoria Street and 
Karo Drive.  
 
In response to your  request in reference to the intersection at Victoria Street and Karo Drive, I 
have responded to each of your questions in turn below- 
 
Distance 
The length of the intersection at Victoria Street and Karo Drive based on the distance between the 
traffic signal pole on the north east corner and the traffic signal pole on the south east corner is 
approximately 30 metres. The measurement is based on aerial photos. 
 
Signal phasing and timing 
The length of time between the orange/amber and red light signal phasing  for Victoria Street 
vehicles travelling southbound is 3 seconds.  
 
The length of time after the red light is activated until the green light is activated and displayed for 
Karo Drive vehicles travelling westbound on Karo Drive is 2.5 seconds.  
 
Both the orange/amber and red light timing do not vary at any time.
