[FYI request #9187 email]
Dear Mr Davenport
Request for information 2018-395
I refer to your request for information dated 18 December 2018, which was received by Greater
Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) on 18 December 2018. You have requested the following
information:
“I noticed there was a reference to correspondence with WCC and also all operators. Could I
receive a copy of that also please?”

We understand this request relates to the information provided in response to OIA 2018-346 which
referenced a meeting held the week of 12 November with WCC which included an agenda item in
relation to red light running, and correspondence to the bus operators about the same.
GWRC’s decision follows.
The issue of traffic light adherence was discussed at the monthly meeting between the Wellington
City Council (WCC) and the GWRC on 13 November 2018. The notes from the meeting and the
relevant meeting documentation are enclosed with this response as Attachment 1
You have also asked for copies of correspondence with operators in relation to the same issue. The
issue was raised in emails with NZ Bus and Mana Coach Services, and at weekly operational
meetings with GWRC officers and bus operators as part of regular weekly face to face meetings and
initial discussions, with no further written correspondence entered into at this stage. The response
from each operator was positive and included a willingness to contribute to any improvement to
safety. A copy of the relevant correspondence is enclosed as Attachment 2.
Please note that information that is out of scope of your request has been removed from the enclosed
documents.
