Hello Hayley,

Thank you for your request, received by the Council on 20 May 2013, in which you ask for information regarding the Council's financial reporting and the availability of detailed figures. Your request has been forwarded to the Issues Resolution Office, and I have been asked to provide you with a response.

The Council fulfils its financial reporting requirements with the information provided in the Annual Report (http://wellington.govt.nz/your-council/plans-policies-and-bylaws/plans-policies/annual-report)

We do get information requests for specific information, usually from the media, including requests relating to the Council's catering spend, the number of parking tickets waived et cetera. However, this level of 'drill down' or detail is not required for reporting purposes.

Should you require specific information, you are welcome to make a request under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA). Your request will be considered and processed under the terms of the Act.

Dear Madam or Sir,

the City Council info line gave me your e-mail as I had a question they could not answer: "where can I go online to see the detailed financial statements for the WCC, including the Council spending on food and drink?". They suggested that the most recent information may not yet be up, as I can find only general data in the Annual Plan, not specifics such as above.
