ACC Analytics & Reporting received an Official Information Act request from Jan Magee:
Please provide statistics on number of claims made to ACC for injuries sustained whilst employed as aluminium joiner,
aluminium fabricator, glazier, door and window technician over the past 5 years.
Response:
The data have been extracted based on the following criteria:
The claim is equal to 'Accepted'. These claims were not necessarily lodged, or had the accident occur, in the same financial year.
The classification unit is equal to the following:
'27420 - Architectural aluminium product manufacturing'
'42342 - Building installation services (not elsewhere classified)'
'42450 - Glazing services'
Classification units 42450 Glazing services and 42342 Building installation services (not elsewhere classified) are not specific to aluminium joinery.
The claim registration date is between 1 July 2013 and 30 June 2018
The amount net is not equal to $0
The claim payment date is between 1 July 2013 and 30 June 2018.
Caveats:
A financial year is 1 July to 30 June.
Cell suppression of claim counts less than 4 is used to ensure client privacy.
Active claims - are claims that generated a payment in the relevant financial years.
A claim can cover multiple financial years. In Table 6, a claim which lasts longer than one year is counted once for each financial year covered.
