Dear FJ Conquer
Local Government Official Information And Meetings Act 1987
Victoria Park Car Park Plan
I refer to your request which we received through Auckland Transport on 18 October 2018,
regarding Victoria Park Car Park Plan.
I can advise that in accordance with section 12 of the Local Government Official Information
and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA). Auckland Transport has transferred Question two of your
request to Auckland Council for a separate response, in addition to their response.
Our response to your questions is as follows:
Please advise if there is any plan to meter the car parks within Victoria park that are
currently timed parks or any future strategic plan for use of these car parks. Please
provide any process or defined plan on how these car parks are enforced or checked.
In order to respond to your request, I consulted with council’s relevant departments who are
responsible for the operation and maintenance of Victoria Park, I have been advised that
they have no future strategic plans for the car park at Victoria Park.
Currently, their Project Delivery team is working on the renewal of the accessway. This work
includes the resurfacing of the seal in the car park and remedying some levels where
ponding has been an issue. Gates are being replaced with bollards and additional signage is
being installed to indicate that the access way to the car park is a shared path for cyclists,
pedestrians as well as vehicles.
These car parks currently have P120 and P180 signs. I have been advised that there are no
current plans to change these from timed parking to metered parking. These time limits are
enforced by Auckland Transport on behalf of Auckland Council and Parking Officers attend
these car parks once a day to enforce the time restrictions.
I hope you find this information useful. Should you believe Auckland Council has not
responded appropriately to your request you have the right to seek a review of the decision
from the Ombudsman.
If you have any further queries please contact me on 09 301 0101, quoting LGOIMA No.
