required to obtain a police certificate from XXX. 
If you have previously obtained a police certificate (for example, if you immigrated to New Zealand 
and were required to obtain one as part of the immigration process), please provide a certified 
copy of this document. 
A certified copy is a photocopy that has been stamped or endorsed by a person who confirms that 
the copy is a true copy of the original document. The person who certifies the copy must be 
authorised to do so by law – for example a lawyer, Notary Public, Justice of the Peace, or court 
official. 
If you need to obtain a new police certificate, we recommend you contact the relevant Consulate 
or Embassy for advice on how to do this.
