Official Information Act request relating to gifts given by the Prime Minister 
Thank  you  for  your  request  made  under  the  Official  Information  Act  1982  (the  Act), 
received on 19 April 2018. You requested: 
"At  the  time  of  this  request,  the  Prime  Minister  is  undertaking  a  visit  to  Europe 
and the  United Kingdom.  I am writing to ask what gifts the Prime Minister gave to 
foreign officials that she met in the course of her official engagements. 
Please provide the following information: 
1. Name of gift recipient and their official position?
2. Description of gift that was given?
3. How much did the gift cost?
4. Where was the gift purchased from? (name of store or supplier)
5. When was the gift purchased?"
I  believe  that  the  information  you  have  requested  is  more  closely  connected  to  the 
functions  of  the  Prime  Minister,  Rt  Hon  Jacinda  Ardern.  Accordingly,  I  have  decided 
under section 14(b)(ii) of the Act to transfer your request to the Prime Minister.
