Information Request – 'outdoor pyrotechnic display written agreements', notification forms and 
display plans/worksheets for the Royal Easter Show firework displays  
On 4 October 2017 you lodged a request for information from Fire and Emergency New Zealand 
(Fire and Emergency).  On 5 October, Fire and Emergency New Zealand acknowledged that your 
request had been received. 
 
In order to establish whether the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) applies to your request, Fire 
and Emergency must establish whether you are a person eligible to make a request under that Act. 
 
Subsection 12(1) of the OIA provides that the following people are eligible to request information 
under the Act: 
  a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident; 
  a person who is in New Zealand; 
  a body corporate that is either incorporated in New Zealand, or 
  a body corporate that has a place of business in New Zealand.  
 
In  order  for  your  request  to  be  considered  under  the  OIA,  and  so  that  Fire  and  Emergency  can 
provide necessary assistance, we would be grateful if you could please provide your contact details 
(ie. name and address) or other information that confirms your eligibility to make a request under 
the OIA.  At the moment, Fire and Emergency only has the single name you have provided through 
the fyi.org.nz website.
