[FYI request #6380 email]
Dear Mr Carter
Thank you for your email dated 8 August 2017 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and
Employment (the Ministry) for the following information under the Official Information Act 1982
(the Act):
We request information on an Indonesian Foreign Charter Vessel crew member who apparently
killed himself whilst working on a Sanford's FCV vessel recently.
The Ministry does not hold any information in relation to your request. I am therefore declining your
request under section 18(e) of the Act as the information does not exist or, despite reasonable
efforts to locate it, cannot be found.
We have made inquiries with the Ministry for Primary Industries and Maritime New Zealand in the
course of responding to your request, and they have both advised that they do not hold any
relevant information.
You are welcome, however, to discuss this matter further with Emma Debreceny, Senior Advisor
Ministerial Services, at Maritime New Zealand via email at: [email address].
You have the right to seek an investigation and review of our response to your request by the
Ombudsman. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
http://www.ombudsman.parliament.nz/ or freephone 0800 802 602.
