Thank you for contacting Auckland Transport (AT) on 28 July 2017 requesting the following
information:
“I would like to have copies of any and all communication, decision or consideration, whether
it be internal, with the applicant or any other party in relation to Fulton Hogan's application for
an HPMV permit for McNicol Road in Clevedon.”
You subsequently wrote on 29 August 2017 regarding the delay to your request for information.
First, let me apologise for the delay in replying to you, due to an administrative oversight I only received
this case on Friday 1 September 2017.
My team is involved in the processing of HPMV permit applications.
All HPMV applications are submitted via an online portal to NZTA as they are responsible for issuing
HPMV permits. Where part of the route is on roads under the control of Auckland Transport (AT) then
the application is referred to AT for review to ensure the roads and bridges are strong enough and
suitable for the proposed HPMV load.
We have received three applications for HPMV permits to operate out of the McNicol Road Quarry
operated by Fulton Hogan.
The first one was received on 29 July 2016, and was declined.
The next 2 were received on 3 March 2017 and 11 July 2017. Both these permit applications were
checked by AT staff and it was established that the roads and bridges were strong enough for the
proposed loads. AT informed NZTA that the AT roads and bridges were OK. NZTA subsequently
issued these two HPMV permits.
The applications and associated correspondence, and permits that were issued by NZTA are attached
as requested.
