Dear Iain,
Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987
CAS-498259-Y1C7J9
I refer to your email dated 2 June 2017, which was referred from Auckland Council on 6 June 2017, requesting
information about plans for Stanley Bay to Ngataringa Park walking/cycling infrastructure that includes Jim
Titchener Parade and/or Ngataringa Bay Access Road.
I wish to advise that Jim Titchener Parade and Ngataringa Bay Access Road are identified on the Auckland Cycle
Network Map for investigation after 2018. Please find the attached map for Devonport highlighting both of
these roads.
A Programme Business Case has recently been developed to guide future investment in cycling across the city.
The business case identifies areas (not routes) for priority investment. The business case identifies Devonport
as a priority area for investment for the period 2018 - 2021. In support of this investment, Auckland Transport
is currently bidding for funding through the Integrated Transport Plan (ITP) process.
It is envisaged that a review of the proposed Devonport Cycle Network will be undertaken in due course to
confirm the identification and selection of routes for investment.
Your request for studies relating to the roads you have identified has been refused under section 17(e) of the
LGOIMA as no concept or feasibility studies have been completed and therefore this information does not
exist.
I trust this information has addressed the matters raised however you have the right in accordance with
section 27(3) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA) to make a
complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman if you are not satisfied with our response.
Kind regards,
Randhir Karma
